Associates recommends you purchase travel insurance. We have reviewed
several of the major travel insurance plans and feel that Access America and Travelex best suits the needs of our trip participants. They both offer several
options, they're comprehensive, and comparatively speaking,
economical. Travel insurance protects you and your money from late
cancellations, accidents or illness in remote areas, emergency
evacuation, loss of baggage, airline flight changes and other unexpected
delays. Access America includes a new Free-To-Go policy from addressing terrorist incidents occurring in a U.S. Also, there are policies regarding international terrorist incidents, however, the policy is state specific. Access America will cover
"preexisting" conditions if you purchase full coverage within fourteen
days following your registration, however, this policy is also state
specific. For policies on international terrorist incidents
and for medical "preexisting" conditions please ask about the policy for
the state in which you reside.
Travelex Insurance offers protection better suited to extreme activities such as high altitude trekking and climbing. We recommend that participants on a
Mt. Kilimanjaro Climb, Machu Picchu
trek in Peru or any high-altitude Nepal treks should condiser Travelex in their travel insurance plans. Click on the logos to the right for more information or to purchase travel insurance.
Why Should I buy Travel Insurance?
The time and expense that you have put into planning and paying for your trip warrant protection through the purchase of travel insurance. Our primary interest in the Access America and Travelex packages is that they cover "emergency medical transportation" - this is important when traveling and preparing for the unexpected. Emergency services are very costly. This coverage is very inexpensive in comparison. Nowadays with homeland and foreign security issues, flight cancellations, baggage handling, medical emergencies and other unexpected interruptions, it is wise to purchase this well-recommended travel coverage. Adventure Associates' staff uses it for professional and personal travel.
